Every time you say
“It’s the last time, I promise.”,
even though we both know its not.
It never is.
You try to convince me by telling me
“I’m the person you love, just do it for me.”
“C’mon, everyone does it.”
“You know I love you.”
“It’s the last time I swear.”
“You know you want to.”
So, when it happens,
I slip further and further into a shell of who I once was.
And, the person I fell in love with becomes more and more like a stranger to me.

This poem embodies watching the person you love to take advantage of you because they have become someone you don’t even recognize.
