Many of us have been forced
Forced to make decisions, unwanted
Quick, Before the force takes over
If you don’t make a choice you are complacent, wanting, wanting it.
If you feel the weight of the world on top of you, pulling you towards a bathroom stall, rubbing against or too close behind you
You must push it off and run
If you freeze you get caught, your mind is stuck in space outside of the solar system, your body, floating thinking of twinkling stars until they are finished
The force can come from familiar planets
The pulling of your hand towards his pants like gravity pulling you towards the earth.
The force of a hand tugging and pulling all over, stretching fabric, pulling fibers
Demolishing the system of planets created
Destroying the trust you put out into the universe.

Force is a short poem on how there is a certain level of expectation people have when it comes to sexual assault. There is a belief that one should react in a certain way or do things to prevent it from happening, and when someone does not have these reactions, the person’s integrity is questioned. Then excuses are made for the assaulter.
